Tension Headaches
Tension headaches are often described as a nagging, constant, dull pain that is felt in the forehead, back of head and neck. This type of headaches occurs when the neck and shoulders become tense due to many different factors.
This pain is considered to be mild to moderate in nature but can last for days.
In order to decrease the symptoms of tension headaches it is important to:
1. Incorporate heat into your day. Using heating pads on neck and shoulders can help reduce tension.
2. Decrease your stress levels. Incorporating meditation and breathing can help. This will help relax your head and shoulders.
3. Maintain a proper sleep schedule. Sleep can help your body heal and restore. It is necessary for your body to rest.
4. Acupuncture and Massage Therapy. Both of these therapeutic modalities can help reduce the tension help in neck and shoulders which can help alleviate pain and tension.
